Open Position - Business Development Manager

4tell™ Solutions, LLC is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its dynamic and rapidly growing organization. This position will report to the company’s Director of Sales and will be responsible for new business development activities within a defined region and/or industry, including but not limited to sales, solutions development, developing partners and market relationships and client support.

4tell’s growth strategy requires that the Company operate at a demanding pace. This key position will enjoy a high level of customer activity requiring the development of multi-level relationships and a focus on life cycle asset management, consulting services, engineering services and energy project development. The Company seeks a strong, innovative and experienced individual who is committed to growing with the Company in its Washington, DC office or its Portland, Maine headquarters, however, other locations may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Sales to develop and implement 4tell’s sales strategies.
  • Sell 4tell’s iPlan™ Performance Governance Solution to identified markets and clients, with a focus on the development of channel partners and targeted vertical markets.
  • Develop strategies and tactics that best position solutions, services or ideas in terms of how they add value to client operations.
  • Manage and address unique needs and preferences of key client decision makers.
  • Work with business partners in the execution of project strategies and details.
  • Develop and identify innovative ways to convert current clients to new solutions or services.
  • Present solutions, services or ideas to clients in manner that clearly shows how they would address critical business needs.
  • Monitor market changes and their likely impact on clients to identify growth opportunities and trends.
  • Work proactively with prospects and external clients in meeting operational goals.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Federal, State and local programs which provide funding for energy, efficiency, environmental and/or life cycle asset management services.
  • Maximize competitive advantage by positioning 4tell as a long term strategic business partner to prospects and clients.
  • Support 4tell Executive Management with strategic planning and implementation of growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with Sales/Business Development, Operations, Marketing, Administration and Technical staff along with external clients, subcontractors and end users to support a common vision of the organization.
 

Professional Requirements

  • College degree in business, engineering, technology or related field.
  • Seven to ten years of business development experience preferably within an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to develop and execute technical, specialized, complex and difficult business development requiring the use of critical thinking and independent judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task a variety of assignments with various levels of priority.
  • Flexible with ever-changing priorities in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve administrative and procedural problems.
  • Highly organized with ability to coordinate multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
  • Ability to take initiative and use independent judgment within established policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Outlook, CRM tools, etc.
  • 4tell is growing rapidly with a leading edge Sustainability Performance Governance Solution. It is a very demanding and entrepreneurial environment that is fun and rewarding, but requires a high level of commitment: this position is not 9-5 and will require a minimum of 50% travel.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of and/or background in energy efficiency solutions for the built environment.
  • Real estate, facility management, workplace management experience with strong technology focus. Knowledge of IWMS, CMMS, EAM or related systems.
